Happy Birthday to me!

We got ourselves a redhead “Australian” heeler with freckles. She is a sweetie, definitely needs some training. But so far she is a great little pup!
We are packing up the car to go camping at Big Sur and eat s’mores by the ocean. Thanks everyone for the bday wishes, we will skype when we get back Sunday night.
Go Robbie!

The Tour of California bike race passed right by our house on Monday, so we snuck out of work to watch the show.
When I say “right by our house”, I mean “right at the top of that mountain by our house”. So we packed up the chariot with as much cheese, wine, sausage, pate, baguettes and babies big girls that it would carry, and rode up to the Summit.
Robbie McEwen, a Brisbane boy who has won 3 green jerseys in the Tour de France, was in this, his last race before retiring, so we formed a fan club for him at the top of that mountain.

Ah… Mexico Part 4

Aldo Caldo, our barman/waiter/concierge at the house organised a boat trip down the coast to a few beaches that are not accessible by road with his cousin, Chato. Chato was a bit busy on the day, so he lent his boat to his friend Pedro. Pedro gave us a great fun guided tour all the way to Yalapa (and back!)
My wife’s smile is beautiful in the morning sun (and all other suns).
Page practicing to be a Patagonia model.
Pedro first took us to the Los Arcos, just north of Mismaloya for some snorkeling. The girls and I jumped in. It was a bit cold for the younger girls, so they got out, but not before seeing some of the hundreds of purple and orange Angel Fish that we attracted. Alex and I relived our Barrier Reef adventure and saw even more fish on the reefs and against the rocky islands.
It was fancy dress on the boat, and I came as a Gringo!

When we arrived at Yalapa, the girls posed with the resident iguana. Page tried to poke its eyes out, but the other two girls were sweet to the poor reptile.

Pedro joined us for lunch on the beach at Yalapa.
There was a vicious beach break that Annie and I got the better of, and which filled us with sand.

Congratulations Alex on your new acquisition. How come it took so long?
Has she got a name?

James thinks the dog is super cute (and is jealous).
Comment by Peter — May 23, 2012 @ 12:44 am
Tell James, he should come over here and hang out w/ Page and Maggie. I’ll babysit while you and Brendan ride bikes…
